Our Concert Season for 2018-19:
Soli Deo Gloria launches into our second decade with a dazzling season of great music! Once again we offer a season of three concerts. Our first concert features our very own director in a solo concert. SDG’s ever-popular Christmas concert returns with music to warm heart and soul. We highlight the contributions of female composers and poets with our final concert. Expect beautiful music by great composers sung by the shimmering voices of Soli Deo Gloria!

SDG, in conjunction with Fresno Pacific University, presents SDG’s Artistic Director and soprano Dr. Julie Carter in a solo performance with collaborative pianist Matthew Dean. Guest artist is Max Hembd on trumpet. Repertoire will include music by Verdi, Puccini, Debussy, Handel, and Spanish composer Fernando Obradors, and music from Broadway. The voices of SDG will join in on a couple of songs as well! All are invited to a reception following the concert.

Celebrate the joyous Christmas season entranced by the voices of SDG. Our ever-popular Christmas concert features the world premiere of “Christmas Visions” by local composer and poet, EJ Hinojosa, set with chamber orchestra. Enjoy carols from Scotland, England, and Burgundy, and a sing- along with the orchestra. Let the ringing voices of SDG put you in the warm holiday spirit!

This concert highlights the con- tributions of female composers or poets from the United States, Canada, and Sweden. Libby Larsen, Eleanor Daley, Andrea Ramsey, Marie- Claire Saindon, Linda Haugen, Jocelyn Hagen, and Agneta Skold have composed exciting music in a variety of styles that SDG brings to life. The concert concludes with an assortment of American spirituals and folksongs.
