Soli Deo Gloria will present “Voices of the Universe” on Friday, April 28 at 7:30 PM. The concert will take place at University Presbyterian Church, 1776 East Roberts, Fresno, California. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, or $12 for students. The pre-concert talk begins at 7 PM.
From breathtaking harmonies to ecstatic and celebratory song, Soli Deo Gloria presents music from Medieval to Modern eras, famous poets, and the music of female composers and arrangers. A skillful and glorious arrangement of Antonio Lotti’s 8-part “Crucifixus” will be featured. Also included are Clara Schumann’s lieder, music by Elaine Hagenberg and a fiery piece, “Caritas Abundat,” based on a text from 12th century muse and musician, Hildegard von Bingen, with violin, drum, and percussion. The chorale will complete the concert with an exciting spiritual and other diverse songs.
